About
About Blink Launch
Blink Launch is a small set of free timers styled like a mission-control console: a countdown timer, a stopwatch with laps, an interval timer, a Pomodoro timer, a countdown to any date and a bay of several timers at once.
How the timers keep time
Browsers deliberately slow down pages you are not looking at, so a timer that adds up one-second ticks drifts badly in a background tab. These timers never count ticks. Each one stores the moment it started or will end and, on every redraw, compares that with your device's clock. Alarms and workout beeps are handed to the Web Audio clock in advance, which keeps them on time while the page is hidden. Running timers are saved in your browser, so a reload does not lose them.
What they cannot do
The timers live in an open browser tab. If you close the browser, shut the laptop lid or let a phone lock its screen, the device may stop playing sound, and an alarm due in that time will not ring until the page is open again. For anything important, keep the page open, turn on Keep the screen on where your browser supports it, and test the sound first. The timers use your device's clock, so they are as accurate as that clock.
Who makes it
Blink Launch is an independent site with no accounts, no adverts and no sign-up. It belongs to a family of small single-purpose tool sites; the sister sites are listed at the bottom of every page. The count of visits comes from Cloudflare Web Analytics, as described on the privacy page.
